History of Rugby:
It is believed that rugby was born like many other games,
the imagination of the ancient Greeks,
but acquired his character sports tournament in France.
However, it is said that rugby was invented in 1823
by a student from England,William Webb Ellis, the Rugby School.
The game came when William Ellischeated in football
they were playing rudimentary, and took the ball with your hands.
Rules:
Not allowed to pass the ball forward. Nor can the ball fall out (knock-on).
The ball can only move by loading it with your hands or kicking it forward.
A tackled player must release the ball or pass immediately
and tackles playermust release the tackled player.
After converting a try or a penalty, the ball is kicked into the team scoring.
Event:
The Rugby World Cup is the international competition of the International RugbyUnion.
The first tournament was organized in 1987 by Australia and New Zealand,
and has since been held every four years.
The prize is the Webb Ellis Cup for the name of
"inventor" of rugby: William Webb Ellis.
The tournament is one of the largest international sporting
competitions in the world, along with the World Cup and Summer Olympics.
The current world champion is South Africa, who won the tournament
in 2007 in France (with some games played in the UK).
Next year's tournament will be held in 2011 in New Zealand.
Venues for the 2015 and 2019 editions are
England and Japan respectively.
